The creative proposition that enticed footballers from a pan european audience to tell Reebok why they are the mavericks (not like Mel Gibson) of the foot balling world and should be the next face of Reebok football.
Fronted by the then current Reebok ambassadors, messrs Henry, Casillas, Giggs and Shevchenko - the user entered the site with the same dark and moody look and feel from the previous season. Out of the darkness steps Henry and his trade mark sexy French accent asks "Do you play by your own rules?"
On clicking 'Yes' the background transformed to multi-paneled papervision environment that moved with the users mouse movement - this was early days for papervision but allowed us to create some nice playful ambient movement throughout the site.
Using a combination of custom filmed green screen sequences, panoramic compositional shots of Madrid, Paris, sunny Manchester and the obligatory 3D rendering of the latest boot, we produced a fun and engaging microsite for the users.
The blocky look and feel developed from the initial 'Play by your own rules' logo. Extending across the site the different shapes formed layers allowing us to create a sense of depth and dynamism both with the backgrounds and the interface.
